Sion Mills is a picturesque village in west Tyrone, situated four miles from Strabane. It is a pleasant tree-lined industrial village and designated conservation area, particularly rich in architectural heritage.

The history of the village is extremely interesting. It was founded in the early 19th century by the Herdman Family. The Herdmans were three brothers James, John and George who converted a flourmill in the village into one of the greatest linen mills in Ireland. Around the mill, they set about designing and constructing a village.

Sion Mills Presbyterian Church was founded in 1866 and was united with Urney Prebyterian Church in 1881.
